Ekaterina Smirnova specialises in issues concerning the violation of Russian Antimonopoly legislation and public procurement questions. Over 11 years of legal consulting, she has represented the interests of the largest companies in cases of anticompetitive agreements (including agreements with public bodies), developed procurement policy for companies partially owned by the state, and represented clients’ interests before the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and in court disputes with public authorities.
Ekaterina is a member of the Russian Association of Antitrust Experts and an Arbitrator at the Russian Arbitration Center at the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration.
Prior to joining Ivanyan & Partners, Ekaterina was a partner with one of the oldest law firms in Russia and an attorney at the Bar Association of the Sverdlovsk region. She studied EU Competition Law in the UK (Cambridge University and King's College) and Public Procurement in the EU in Germany (Academy of European Law, ERA). Ekaterina takes a postgraduate diploma programme at King's College (London, UK).
