Ivanyan & Partners builds FinTech & IT practice headed by Alevtina Kamelkova
Alevtina Kamelkova has joined Ivanyan & Partners with a team of lawyers with considerable experience providing advice on digital economy issues, in particular blockchain and crypto-currencies. Alevtina will head the firm's FinTech & IT practice.
Alevtina specialises in all-around support of FinTech projects. She gained considerable experience in global IT companies and combines profound knowledge of the industry with a long track record of legal support to international technology projects.
Alevtina has experience – exclusive to the Russian market – advising on highly complex hi-tech and blockchain projects implemented in Asia, Europe, and Russia. Her portfolio includes innovative solutions for digitising fiat assets of major Russian corporations and large-scale IT-infrastructure projects. Her team also has solid experience advising on finance and venture capital investment transactions.
Khristofor Ivanyan, Partner:
One of our priorities is to provide Russian business leaders and the Russian Federation with legal protection in the context of the country's economy and digitalisation of global markets. The arrival of Alevtina and her team is a strategic step for the firm.
Alevtina Kamelkova, Partner, Head of FinTech & IT practice:
Business, including Russian business, is heading for extensive digitisation, and the next step will be a digitalisation race in competing markets. The winners will be those who not only understand the legal aspects but also have practical experience with technologies. Our goal is to build an innovative technology practice that is up to the challenges of the digital era and is capable of protecting clients’ interests in areas where the regulatory environment is still developing, but the speed of technological changes and business demands are incredibly high. Ivanyan & Partners has considerable experience working with large Russian business and government structures. The approach of the firm's partners proved to be absolutely in tune with my ideas, and therefore I believe this firm is the most suitable platform for building the practice.
Prior to joining the firm, Alevtina was Of-counsel in the Moscow office of a large international law firm and for more than 10 years headed the legal departments of technology corporations Alcatel-Lucent and then Nokia, where she was in charge of the Eastern Europe and CIS region. Alevtina leads the FinTech working group formed under the Russian Government program Digital Economy and is a member of the Expert Council on Legislative Support for the Development of Financial Technologies of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets.
